| We consider health and safety is a priority in the
business and is key to our operations at all levels.
Agetur's record on health and safety has been excellent
with no major incidents or prohibition notices issued
to the company. As a demonstration of this, regular
meetings are held by the health and safety committee
to discuss new activities and changes to the legislation.
We are pro- active in implementing new health and safety
mandates and ensure that all operatives are made fully
aware of any changes in procedures.
Before starting any new project, we follow a rigid procedure
to make sure that we have assessed all identifiable risks
and given special attention to potential hazards on the
site. Our first step would be to eliminate the risk and
if this was not possible to make the work safe by our
methods of working and the tools and equipment we provide.
This is achieved through method statements and risk assessments
to highlight potential hazards and eliminate risks.
All new personnel receive a full and comprehensive site
induction to warn them of the possible dangers or hazards
of their work and advise on the ways to eliminate or
reduce the risk to themselves and others. Only site staff
with the appropriate type and level of training are allowed
to work and their previous experience is always considered
before tasks are allocated. Regular toolbox talks are
given on all sites throughout each project on a wide
range of health and safety matters. Participation in
these talks is considered important and there is encouragement
to be involved and to ask questions. Site visits are
undertaken by Agetur's health and safety supervisor who
regularly visits sites to monitor work practices and
procedures. |
