Investor in People Award

On 16 December 2005 Agetur (UK) Limited received the Investors in People award from Darren Mercieca Business Adviser, Business Link Northamptonshire who presented the plaque to Rob Rexton, Richard Warby and John Gaughan.

The company started to work towards Investors in People recognition in February 2005 with the support of Business Link Northamptonshire. David Melton, our assessor, met with twenty seven members of the Agetur team on 1 and 4 November 2005 and he made sure that he spoke to people from all parts of the business. In his summing up and report he was very complimentary about the team work and attitude of everyone in the business.

Although our assessor approved the application for recognition as an Investor in People, his decision still had to be approved by the recognition panel. They met on 24 November and agreed with his view and formally granted recognition on that day.

Rob Rexton, Managing Director said "We are delighted that Agetur has been able to prove to the Investors in People organisation that we are a company worthy of recognition. We believe that Investors in People is worthwhile as a way to demonstrate to our clients and others in the industry that we are a good company with high standards. It proves our commitment to quality work with quality people. It is recognition of the effort our people put into their jobs every day and is evidence that everyone works together as a team."

The company intends to continue to work on the standards already achieved and will go ahead with its plans to improve the training and development opportunities for all its 125 staff including structured training plans for trainees and future gangermen. Work will continue on NVQ's to recognise the specific skills of various trades and the company will continue to provide on the job training to improve standards and provide opportunities for personal development.

The company also plans to introduce site performance reviews to help us recognise and praise our achievements and identify areas which will require improvement for the future. We see this as a positive way to improve business performance and make Agetur a better company to work with. We are looking forward to continuing this work during 2006.

The company is particularly proud of this achievement during 2005 and recognises that it was achieved by everyone in the company including a number of key members of staff who have been with the business for fifteen years or more. These people are important to the business for the stability, knowledge and experience they contribute.
